There are several ways to reduce water consumption in showers and washbasins.

• The ecowaterjet system from Rabmer is best suited for this, as water consumption is reduced by up to 50% to around 7 liters per minute and - very importantly - showering comfort is fully maintained. For hand wash basins, we recommend using the ecowaterjet DFB 5l, a standard flow reducer that reduces consumption to 5l/min while ensuring a full water jet.
• As an alternative to the ecowaterjet, commercially available economy shower heads can also be used, but these have the disadvantage that saving water automatically leads to a loss of pressure and therefore reduced showering comfort. Economy shower heads reduce the flow rate to around 9-10 l/min, which means that the savings effect is less than with the ecowaterjet.
• Existing shower heads can also be retrofitted with a commercially available water-saving insert (small plastic parts that are inserted into the shower head) to create energy-saving shower heads, but here too the following applies: the flow rate is reduced to (only) 9-10 l/min and showering comfort is reduced.
• The usage behavior also plays a major role, of course:
  • Shorter shower times: Try to shorten your shower time. The less time you spend in the shower, the less water is used.
  • Turn off the tap when soaping up: Turn off the tap while soaping up to save water and only turn it on again when you are ready to rinse off.
  • Showering instead of bathing: Showers generally use less water than a full bath. So if possible, choose a shower instead of a bath.

• No, unlike other water-saving systems (such as economy shower heads), the shower time is not extended, especially when using the ecowaterjet by rabmer®. The ecowaterjet by rabmer® optimizes the water flow so that the water jet remains powerful while water consumption is reduced. This allows you to shower as usual without extending the shower time!

• Primarily cost reduction by saving water and energy for hot water preparation
• In addition, a hygiene advantage, as the shower hose and shower head are cleaned by the strongly swirling water and thus no biofilm and no deposits (lime, dirt, etc.) can form
• Accordingly, the service life of the hose and shower head is extended

• Turning it on less also means lower water pressure. This means it takes longer to wash off soap or shampoo, which increases the shower time and therefore water consumption. Turning on less and therefore less pressure also reduces shower comfort, which is important for many people. All this speaks in favor of the ecowaterjet - it actually reduces water consumption while maintaining high water pressure, which means that showering time is not increased and showering comfort remains high!

• The ecowaterjet from Rabmer mounted in front of the shower hose reduces water consumption by up to 50% - depending on water/wastewater and energy costs, etc., annual savings of around EUR 100 per person can be assumed for a private household. I.e. with 3 persons this amounts to a saving of EUR 300. For a business hotel with 100 rooms or showers, the savings amount to about EUR 13,000 per year!
• This means that the payback period is only a few months - almost always less than half a year!

• The "bucket test" makes it easy to check the savings independently. One fills the bucket for 1 minute with fully turned up water by means of conventional shower hose, then marks the water level. Then the ecowaterjet is mounted in front of the shower hose. Now fill the bucket with water again for 1 minute and then compare the level. You can immediately see the significant savings. For an exact measurement it is recommended to place the filled bucket on a scale. The weight reduction in kg corresponds to the water reduction in liters.
• In addition, we have had the savings tested and confirmed by TÜV Austria!

• No, on the contrary: Rabmer's ecowaterjet improves hygiene standards through its cleaning effect.
• An optimum effect is achieved by using the "L" series. Here, the shower head is completely emptied and the shower hose is partially emptied, which significantly reduces the risk of germ formation in the hose or shower head.
• The ecowaterjet has also been certified by OFI-CERT in accordance with guideline ZI21 and therefore complies with the strict KTW hygiene regulations for drinking water applications and the specifications of the German Federal Environment Agency. It is therefore also approved for use in healthcare facilities.

• The use of a flow restrictor generally has no negative effects on the drain. On the contrary, in many showers, high water consumption causes backflow in the drain, which leads to "flooding" in the shower. Using the ecowaterjet by rabmer® solves this problem quickly and easily.

• The ecowaterjet by rabmer® has the OFI-CERT ZI-21 hygiene certificate in accordance with the requirements of the German "Umweltbundesamt - Bewertungsgrundlage für metallene Werkstoffe im Kontakt mit Trinkwasser". This means that the strict guidelines according to KTW BWGL (identical to DIN DVGW W270) are fulfilled. • With the ecowaterjet, there is no restriction in terms of service life. Due to the strong water turbulence, there are no deposits in the ecowaterjet itself. Due to the materials used, there is no wear that could reduce the service life.
• In the hand shower set, the shower hose and shower head come from the German company RC Mannesmann. These are high-quality products that meet the strict KTW requirements in Germany. Depending on use, shower frequency and water quality, the service life of these parts - as with all commercially available shower sets - varies considerably. No warranty beyond the warranty period can be given here.

• No, the ecowaterjet from Rabmer can still be used. It is suitable for all shower hoses or shower heads with 1/2″ connection.

• No, due to the strong water turbulence, there are no lime deposits in the ecowaterjet. Regular dismantling or cleaning is not necessary to maintain the function.

• Yes, the ecowaterjet by rabmer® is an innovative solution because it uses the physical Venturi principle to limit the water flow without reducing the pressure - something that other water-saving systems such as low-flow shower heads cannot do!

• The price varies depending on the type of flow restrictor required - the ecowaterjet by rabmer® WR4 is used for showers with a list price of EUR 59.90 (incl. VAT), while the small DFB 5l, which has a completely different design, is used for taps and is also significantly cheaper than the ecowaterjet WR4.
• The ecowaterjet by rabmer® for the shower is manufactured 100% in Austria and is made of high-quality metal, resulting in an extremely long service life. This high-end product is also used in top star hotels and meets the strictest EU drinking water guidelines. With its outstanding quality and durability, it meets the highest demands.

• There are normally no restrictions for shower hoses, as the ½" connection is standard on the market. For special sizes (e.g. 3/8"), a corresponding adapter (3/8" to ½") must be used.
• In general, if the ecowaterjet is retrofitted, care must be taken to ensure that any strainers inserted in the hose or shower head are cleaned or, even better, removed before use in order to ensure optimum showering comfort.

All ecowaterjet products are delivered with installation instructions. There everything is described in detail. It is essential that

• for hand showers, the ecowaterjet is mounted directly on the fitting in front of the shower hose
• for overhead showers, the Ecowaterjet is mounted directly in front of the shower head
• Please note that the thread of the ecowaterjet may have sharp edges and we therefore recommend the use of work gloves during installation to avoid cuts

• Please check whether a water-saving shower head with an inserted strainer is already in use - in this case, please remove the strainer or the inserted plastic reducer with a small pair of needle-nose pliers or a pointed object (small knife, screwdriver, etc.). This allows the water jet, which is strongly swirled by the ecowaterjet, to flow unhindered through the shower head and ensure a high level of showering comfort.
• Your shower head may also be heavily calcified - please clean it in a vinegar bath or 10% citric acid (commercially available).
• If there is still a significant loss of pressure, the water pressure in the system is so low that the flow rate is significantly less than 10 liters/minute. This occurs, for example, in houses with low water pressure and/or heavily calcified pipes. This problem can occur especially on the upper floors of multi-storey buildings. Then the use of the ecowaterjet water saving system no longer makes sense.

• The "hole" or opening is used to mix air into the water jet. If water escapes, please check the installation. The water leakage is an indication that the ecowaterjet by rabmer® was incorrectly installed directly in front of the shower head and not in front of the shower hose in accordance with the installation instructions.
